After relocating from Los Angeles in 1996, Kelly Quinlan, a professional makeup artist, realized the immediate need for freelance makeup artistry within the Philadelphia area. Just a few short months later, in the fall of 1997, Face the Occasion was created. Kelly, along with her co-founder and business partner, Jill Fulop, set out to offer clients an experience that they couldn’t receive in a salon. The newly created company brought the salon experience and professional makeup artists to the client.

In both L.A. and Philadelphia, Kelly continued to train for several years with reputable cosmetic companies such as Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Lancome, MAC, Nars, Stila, Trish McEvoy and other makeup artistry lines. She achieved all of this while furthering her knowledge within the makeup artistry business; Kelly had the opportunity to work alongside celebrity makeup professional Bobbi Brown and her “dream team” of makeup artists during her local personal appearances, all while furthering her passion of creating beautiful faces.

Over the past several years, Kelly has been fortunate enough to work both in Los Angeles and in Philadelphia with each area’s hottest photographers, hair stylists, event designers, and planners. This opportunity has allowed her to network with these talented professionals and build relationships that can only benefit the clients they work for.

While Kelly is mostly called upon to do Wedding & Special Event makeup, she has also worked with film, print, and fashion photo shoots. Her work has appeared in “The Knot Magazine”, Lehigh Valley Style Magazine, Merci New York, and popular websites such as Etsy, Style Me Pretty, Wedding Wire and Wedding Bee, just to name a few.

With over 20 years experience as a professional makeup artist, Kelly’s philosophy has never changed. She genuinely cares about and listens to all of her clients. Kelly gives creative input that keeps both the client and camera happy, and above all else, she has built a reputation as being a highly regarded artist that both professionals and past clients love to recommend.

Over the past few years Kelly has donated much time and money into supporting and educating women dealing with and battling breast cancer. After two close friends and a family member were diagnosed with the disease, Kelly knew she had to get involved. Both Kelly and Face the Occasion proudly donate and participate in the Susan G. Komen 3Day for the Cure that takes place in Philadelphia every October.

When Kelly is not working she enjoys running, cooking, gardening, painting, and anything to do with home decorating. Most importantly, she loves spending her free time at home with her husband and three young children.
